Drag and drop not showing layer

Nov 05, 2021

I created two freeform drag n drop interactions, with 1 slide in between. All the settings are the same.

When I test them separately, they work as intended, showing a custom layer after a specified result and jumping to the next slide when clicking a button on that layer. But when I test the entire project, the first interaction just skips this steps and goes straight to the next slide.

I think it has something to do with there being two of these interactions? But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to change this!

Attached 2 screenshots of my settings.

Has any one else experienced this?

Hi, Susanne.

Thank you for sharing the screenshots!

Here are my initial thoughts, without seeing the file: I noticed that you don't have feedback layers connected to your questions. When the user clicks submit, there is nothing to show, jumping to the next question.

If you are using a trigger to show the layers, then when you are previewing only one slide, the submit button cannot jump to another question, which allows the user to view your feedback layer.

If you can share the .story file, it will be easier to give you some specific suggestions, but in the meantime, can you connect your feedback layers in Form View?

Hi Maria,

Thanks for your swift reply. There are no feedback layers attached because I made custom feedback layers (which I didn't screenshot, sorry). My file is too big to attach, even after omitting a lot of slides that are irrelevant for the issue. Should I email/wetransfer it to you?

The reason I didn't adjust the built-in feedback to my needs is that there are three outcomes instead of two: you get it correct the first time (10 points), you get it wrong (minus 5 points), you try again and you get it correct (8 points). You can only go to the next slide by clicking a button on one of the 'correct' layers.

(I removed the +8 option because of the issues described, hoping it would solve the issue, so the third option is now no longer present in the file.)

The weird thing is, I did exactly the same in the second interaction, but there it works just fine.
