Oh! I was hoping to examine the SL file you're working on -- it may be there is a corrupted element (graphic, video, text...) that is causing the problem. Regardless, if you are still unable to see the time variables in the file you just sent me (I see them!), then yeah, I think it would be worth trying to reinstall the application.
The Built-in Elapsed Time variables were introduced in Build 3.58.26627.0. If you're using an older Storyline 360 version, please follow the steps in the article below to update your app to the most recent one:

That is very interesting, especially when considering SL doesn't seem to give us the ability to delete built-in variables even if we wanted to:
Is there any way you could provide the SL file?
I tried the same with a new SL. But, no results. Shall I re-install SL?
