Inbuilt timer issues on ipad

We have recently built a course in 360 using the inbuilt timer. The learner had 2 hours in which to complete an assessment. Whilst this worked on the majority of platforms, this would not work on an ipad. Has anyone else come across this problem and is there a fix for it?

  • Hi Nichola,

I have heard of users running into issues with the quiz timer on mobile devices specifically when all features have been removed from the Storyline player (menu, buttons, seekbar, etc.).

Does that sound similar to what you're seeing?

  • Hi Alyssa

That's exactly what we have done! In this instance we removed all of the above from the player.

  • Thanks for confirming that, Nichola!

Until we have a fix for this issue in place, you can get around it by adding any element (e.g. menu, prev/next button, volume) on the Player or on any slide via Slide Properties.

Really sorry for the trouble this has caused you, and I'll keep you posted on any new information I receive!

  • There is a way to create a custom timer (code developed by Matthew Bibby). Let me know if you would like me to create a sample project file and test it on the ipad. I can't think of any reason it would not work.

Thanks Michael. We have got round it by creating a custom timer.

Hi Nikki.  This issue hasn't been fixed yet.  The workaround is still to include another feature to the player on any slide.

We'll let you know if this changes!
