Is there a way to insert a slide into PowerPoint Presentation?

Dec 16, 2021

I've been invited to present at a conference, and I was wondering if there's a way to insert a slide into a PowerPoint presentation. I remember doing this years ago because I was able to insert a flash file, but that's obviously no longer an option.

One thing to note is that the slide I wanted to use has a slider and a dial, so I don't know if that would cause any issues.

My other alternative is obviously just to publish the course to the 360 review or locally on my computer, but I was thinking things would run smoother if I could include certain slides into the presentation and keep it in presentation mode.

Hello!

I am sorry but I barely understand what is the problem you struggle with.

Yes, you can insert slides into your PowerPoint. Like copy from one presentation and paste in yours.

You also can upload it in google slides and edit it here as well. Especially if you have problems with your license or with the software itself on your computer.

I am sorry if I understood you in the wrong way.

Happy to see Joshua was able to chime in here with an idea!

Interactive elements associated with variables like sliders and dials aren't going to behave the same way in PowerPoint. Take a look at Tom's How to Convert Storyline Courses to PowerPoint blog to see if it inspires ideas.

In the meantime, I'm curious to see what other suggestions our community members chime in with!

I spent a while trying to figure it out without any luck, so I just decided I'm going to make the whole presentation in Storyline, output it to the web, and launch it locally. The presentation is about doing high quality, low cost training so it would lose a lot of the impact if I can't show off the functionality

Two tips:

  • If you build the presentation in Storyline, publish for CD and then the output will give you a better presentation frame.
  • You can insert a webpage into PowerPoint so if you had a published slide uploaded somewhere you may be able to get that to work.

Personally, I'd go the route you're going.

A third option is to build the presentation in PowerPoint. Output the slides as images. Insert into Rise and then use a Storyline block with the slide you want. We do presentations all the time using Rise and this works well.
