I have 4 triggers, each trigger when clicked brings up a layer and changes state from normal to visited. when clicking the fourth and final trigger, the course wants to jump to the next slide without first showing the final layer. How to I keep it from doing that? My trigger is set to jump to next slide once all triggers are changed to visited
It sounds like your triggers to change those states are occurring on the base layer vs. the individual layers themselves? If that's the case, it would make sense that once that final trigger is executed Storyline will follow the logic to jump to next slide instead of showing the slide layer. Often folks set up something similar using a state change or a variable adjustment on the layer itself.
If you're able to share a copy of your .story file here, folks can also take a look at making changes on that directly or provide other ideas to get you up and running again!
Did you find a solution to this? I am having the same issue. Once all states are 'Visited' it should take you to the end, but upon clicking the last object, it sends you to the end before viewing the final object.
I'm having the exact same problem. Why was there never a solutions posted as this seems to be a common problem? Desperately looking for some assistance.
I created a sample project that you can take a look at! I removed the next button for the slide with the layers so the user had to move through the layers before going to the next slide.
Hi Laruen,
Thank you for putting this together. I really appreciate having a community out there to help with issues such as this!
It doesn't quite catch the complexity of what I am looking for, therefore, I have attached the slides I am working with.
I have:
* Created T/F variable for layers EE3, Diversity, Inclusion, with the default as False.
* I then added triggers to each layer to change the variable to "True" when the timeline ends for each layer.
* I want the first slide to advance to the Matching Activity slide automatically when all the variables change to TRUE
o I realize I need to add the trigger "Jump to next slide" when Variable 1, 2, and 3 = True but I'm stumped as to how I do this and on which slide. I have tried so many different combinations and none of them seem to work. Do I add the trigger on the Base slide? My final attempt was to create three triggers (one for each variable) with the condition that the other two = True as well. I have then grouped them.
To help clarify, my goal is to have the Key Term slide transition automatically to the Matching Activity slide without the user clicking NEXT, but only after all three key terms (objects) have been viewed. As you can see, I've removed the "NEXT" button from the player. The only thing the user should be clicking on the first slide is the picture/term, which they can do in any order and then returns the learner to the base slide with state changed to visited.
Am I on the right track? This is the last thing I need to fix before I can publish my project and it has caused me HOURS of frustration!!
Susan

Greetings, Kristin!
I'd love to take a thorough look at your slide's settings. Would you mind sharing the .story with us?
Since this is a public forum, you can import the slides into a new file. Then, remove any private information and attach the file in a new reply right here.

So glad to hear it, Susan! Good luck with your project, and give us a shout if you need any other help.
none of these suggestions worked, may be because I am using a text entry field?
Attaching your .story file here will make it much easier for someone to give you specific, useful suggestions.
