Jump to Next Slide When all Markers have been Visited

Aug 19, 2021

Hi all,

I'm working on a project in which I have 9 different markers on a page, where each marker has an audio component. I'm trying to figure out who I can force a user to visit all nine markers and listen to the audio, before the slide advances on its own to the next slide. I know I can trigger the next button to be disabled and then re-trigger to come back on, but how can I make the slide auto advanced after all 9 markers have been visited and the audio played for each? I've tried to find help in other threads but nothing really seems to work.

Thanks!

Hi James. You can accomplish this by putting the audio for each of the makers on slide layers.

In the attached example, I have it so when the user clicks on the marker, the audio on the layer will play. Each layer has two variables, one that changes the audio file from false to true when the media ends and another that says jump to the next slide when the timeline ends, and audio 1, 2, and 3 = true.

Best,

Carolyn

A follow up question, is there a way to trigger the audio on each layer to stop playing (either stop or pause) when the user clicks outside of the marker on the base level? Each of my nine markers have text displayed as well as the audio. I seem to be having a hard time getting the layer audio to stop. Since I'm not adding anything more than the audio to each layer... I appreciate any help or suggestions you may have!

Hi, James.

If you're using Carolyn's sample file above, the audio should automatically stop if the user clicks an object on the base layer.

If you right-click the layer and choose Slide Layer Properties, make sure Prevent the user from clicking on the base layer is unchecked.
