Layers show up in preview, but not in timeline window (SL3)

Jul 23, 2020

I guess this isn't a huge deal, but I'd like my layers (triggered by cue points) to show up in the timeline window, so I don't need to preview the whole slide. As of now, they don't show when the cue points are reached. But they do work great in preview, so I shouldn't complain. But I am. :D Only because I'm pretty sure this is a new behaviour... Did I flip a switch by accident? Anyone else having this issue? Thanks!

If by show in timeline, you mean show when you preview from the timeline, rather than using the menu item, layers don't show that way. I don't think that has changed since SL2. Put in a feature request for having the stage show the accurate conditions of the slide according to the playhead setting, which is something a lot of us could use.

Hi, Fred.

I have exciting news to share!
We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 66, we've included important fixes and new features.

One of the features we've included is:

Scrub the timeline to quickly see when timed elements appear and disappear on the stage without previewing the entire slide.

To take advantage of this feature, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
