Markers staying open until I click one closed

Sometimes I struggle with the dumbest stuff and then I finally find out it's a known Storyline issue. This discussion is already closed, so I'm starting a new one.

I have an issue where all of my markers stay open (filling up the screen) until I click one closed. I see there was a fix for this a while back, however, it's still happening. I selected a visited state that has a drop shadow (aka a gradient fill I suppose). Once I changed this visited state to a solid grey with no drop shadow, the markers are working as they should. 
Super frustrating that something like this would cause such an issue.
Just thought I'd share in case anyone else comes across this glitch.
