Sorry for the old thread, but this is an example where the text is in the rectangle; it has an animation to build the text, then I want to move it to another position where I build the text further. Rectangle moves but leaves text behind.
I was going to dupe the item at the new position and then add my new bullet points in to the dupe; maybe there's a better way to accomplish this. I am a newbie. Storyline 360.
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are running into with your project as well.
This conversation is a bit dated and I do not see where we had a file to take a look at previously.
I've submitted a case on your behalf along with your .story file so that one of our support engineers can take a closer look. You should be hearing from someone soon.
Thank you, Leslie, for the prompt response! I figured out a workaround in the meantime which is to make the text and the filled rectangle separate items; then group them and they will move together. But it'd be nice to be able to keep it instead as just a text box with a solid fill.
Any updates on this? I'm having the same issue with this slide. I want the move the box and the text up along the motion path to display the text at the bottom that was too long to fit into the slide.
I checked on the status of this issue, and our team is continuing to investigate this further. You're in the right place, and we'll share more details on this issue as soon as we can!
In the meantime, I reviewed your file and applied the workaround that Mark mentioned above (thank you, Mark!)
To make the animation work, I added a transparent rectangle to your text box, grouped those items together, then applied a motion path to the grouped object. After previewing the slide, the text box shifted as expected with the text moving up as well:
I am attaching the revised file to my comment to see the changes made.

Hi Terra
are the 3 bulleted points typed directly into your 'rectangle' or are they in their own text box?
They are typed in the rectangle.
Hi Terra,
Could you share a copy of that slide with us here?

No problem, Mark.

Hey Vincent,
Appreciate the help, thanks!
I'm currently having this issue except the group work around is not working either.
Hi Elena!
Since this is an older thread with various discussions, would you mind sharing more details so I can better understand what you are experiencing?
I look forward to helping you with this!
