Moving objects horizontally or vertically inexplicably causes them to change their dimensions

Jun 22, 2023

Is anyone else having issues since the most recent update to Storyline 360? The oddest thing keeps happening: when I try to move an object (a circle in this case), whether I use the X and Y coordinates or my mouse to drag the circle left/right or up/down, it inexplicably increases the height of my circle. It doesn't matter that I have locked the aspect ratio for the object; my 30 x 30 circle changes to 30 x 38.

This also happens when I try to distribute the circle along with two nearby ones; the circle changes dimensions. I wasn't having this issue yesterday, so all I can speculate is that the update I installed today is causing it. But if anyone else has an idea, please let me know! I can change the dimensions back (after taking off the lock aspect ratio setting; funny how that works as it should when I try to adjust the size but has no effect on this bug), but it's incredibly annoying to have to make this change whenever I try to move an object.

Dimensions before and after trying to move an object

Hello Laura,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.

I tried replicating the behavior on my end using a same sized shape, but moving the object didn't increase its size for me.

Since the issue appears to be specific to your installation, please try doing a repair of Storyline 360 to see if this helps.

You'll also want to make sure that you're working locally when making edits to your course. If the issue persists after doing the repair, open a case with our support team here for further assistance.

Let us know how it goes!
