Overcomplicated accordion?

Hi All!

I'm just wondering if there is an easier way to build the accordion that I have built. Basically, I'm recreating functionality in Presenter (and iSpring) because I want more slide space and some design flexibility. But, in order to recreate all of the functionality, I ended up with a monster slide with lots of variables and triggers. Adding tabs would be tricky at this point; although, not impossible.

So, I'm just wondering if you gurus out there with my experience than I have could have built something just like it (I can't lose any of the slide fades, hovering, state changes, etc.) with a cleaner build.
