Publishing in Word won't work FRUSTRATING!

May 08, 2015

Hi Heroes,

I have seen previous posts about this problem, and mine still hasn't worked.  But it worked before.  I unchecked the "file conversion" option and it still does not work.

I am running SL 1 (Update 8), Win 8.1, Word 2013.

I publish a project to Word, and it seems to make the slides (progress bar, etc.).  Then it says it was successful.  When I push the "view File" button, nothing happens, it turns blue, like I pushed it, but word doesn't open.  Also, when I go to the directory, there is no word file there.

What happened?  I need to be able to do this for some certifications I am working on.

Thank you!

Best,

Robert

Okay, I answered my own question and solved it, but it might be instructive for others.

1. I tried another project and it published in Word just fine.

2. I went back to the project that wasn't publishing and imported it into a new project.

3. It published fine.

Not sure what the problem was, or is, but I created a work around for it.  It is fine now.

Hope that helps others in a similar boat.

Best,

Robert

Hi Robert,

I had this same problem so searched for an answer and came across your question. I tried importing it into a new project and it did work but I lost all the formatting so I had to re-import into a previous template. However, I re-imported one project and it still wouldn't publish to word so I changed my save location to desktop and that worked fine, then I just renamed and moved the folder. I did read somewhere else that you have to publish to a local file but I've published plenty to my network and they worked except for a few. Just thought you might like to know this quicker and easier work around.

Regards,

Richard
