Reappearing Object

Jan 13, 2023

Hi!

I need some help with a project I am working on.

I have triggers set up on 3 objects (key 1, key 2, key 3) to be set to 'dropped correct' when placed on an object (closed box). The 'dropped correct' state is set to make the object disappear.

The issue is that, although the key disappears when placed on the box, it reappears on its own after a few seconds.

I would also like to place a condition so that 'key 1' is set to dropped correct (disappear) when key 1 is placed on closed box IF 'lock 1' is set to dropped correct.

I will add the project here--please help!

Hello Manar,

Thanks for reaching out!

I took a look at your project file to troubleshoot, but I was unable to find anything that resembled keys. It was mostly images of pipes, valves, and hoses. I might not have been looking at the right place - my apologies. Would you mind making a recording of the behavior you're experiencing so I can take a closer look at what's happening? Here's how:

  1. Launch Peek 360 on your computer and click New Recording.

  2. Select the application you want to record, then choose a microphone  (if you have one)  when the recording window appears.

  3. Click the red Record button and reproduce the issue.

  4. When you're finished, click Done on the recording control bar or click the Peek 360 icon in your system tray (by the clock).

  5. You can preview your recording, give it a name, and then click Upload to send it to your Articulate 360 account.

  6. Windows will notify you when it's done uploading, and a link to your screencast will automatically be copied to your clipboard.

  7. Share the link with us.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for reaching out!

I should have clarified: the issue is in slide 1.2, which has 3 layers. There's a base layer which leads into a layer for instructions, then a third layer (that's giving me the issues) that should be the 'activity' portion. I'm attaching the link to the recording here

Hi Manar,

Thanks for sharing your project file!

The reason why your object is reverting to its earlier state is because of the presence of this trigger:

What's happening is that your object is changing to the 'IN BOX' state when the key is dropped into the box, and the immediately reverts to the normal state when you move your mouse away because of the present of the trigger. To fix this, you can add conditions to the triggers:

As for your second design requirement , you can set the default state of your object to disabled, and only change it to normal when its corresponding lock is dropped on the correct target.

Let me know if this works for you!
