Is it possible to remove the title of the storyline project from the first screen - the one that is black with 'continue' and 'restart' buttons? Thanks.
Have you turned off the title in the player properties? Also, are you seeing this when you test the content on a mobile device or on a desktop computer?
Hi Alyssa, yes I turned off the title in player properties (just double checked!) and its when on a mobile device. My filenames are a bit obscure which is why I'd like to hide them. Thanks.
Ah, now I've got it! You're seeing the course title on the mobile Start screen before the first slide of the course is displayed. Thanks for clarifying that!
That title will appear by default, and there isn't a way to remove it. If you'd like to share your feedback with us on that, you can submit a feature request here!
Alyssa, could you please reconfirm. Are you saying that no matter what publishing choices I make, my file name/title is going to be shown to the student before they begin a lesson? That this title is different from the title deselect in the player properties? Needless to say, having a file name presented to a student which will not make sense to them could cause confusion. This did not happen in SL1 or SL2. Thanks.
I did want to say that I do recognize that I can control this better by duplicating the title and simply having it show up twice in our LMS. The title that I specify will prevent SL from returning a file name. It just seems odd because we didn't have to do this before. Thanks.
Yes, that title is expected to show up in the top of the player as a part of the mobile start screen. This didn't happen in Storyline 1 or 2, as there was a different setup for how we loaded HTML5 output on Mobile. With Storyline 3 and 360 you'll now see it in the new responsive player.
We'll keep you posted if this changes, but in the meantime it sounds like using the duplicate title would be the best method.
Thanks for clarifying, Rory. Do you have video or audio on the first slide of your course? You'll see the startup screen on a desktop display in that case as well. We added this launch screen to help solve problems caused by recent autoplay issues with some browsers.
Thanks again for sharing your duplicate title method!
Having the title at the top of the responsive player is still the default setting. The best way to possibly see a change in those features is to submit a feature request. If they make it into our feature roadmap, this conversation will be updated.
I have been just going to the player features and clicking on cover photo. I do not add a photo just save it and this has worked for me.. the name does not show, just the black screen with the play button
Thank YOU!!!!!! The cover photo thing was exactly what I needed! Found out recently that it would crash with any update after 3.75 if there wasn't an actual character in the Title section. We were just adding three spaces for a long time.

I should have said - I'm talking about in Storyline 3 :)

Thanks Ashley. And just to be clear, this is showing up on desktop displays, not just mobile, when we publish to HTML5 only.

Yes, we do! That solves the mystery. Thank you!
Hi! 4 years later, any update on being able to remove the title screen?
Hi Jamila,
Thanks for checking in with us on this feature!

Thanks! I am submitting a request right now.
