Replay button and seekbar not working

Nov 16, 2021

Hi All,

I wanted to raise a query on the forum regarding the replay button and the seek bar setting on storyline 360.

File Detail:

There is a base layer with 4 clickable buttons.
All 4-slide layer has some content with VO corresponding to the button.
 My requirement:

While clicking the replay button, the complete slide should be replayed.
The seek bar should help me navigate through the base layer and not the selected slide layer

 Case - 1:

The seek bar is set to "Allow Seeking - YES" for all slide layers.

In this case on the preview/publish mode, when I click the replay button on the player, it replays the selected slide layer and not the base layer.

Similarly, the seek bar seeks through the selected slide layer and not the base layer.

 Case – 2:

The seek bar is set to "Allow Seeking - NO" for all slide layers.

In this case on the preview/publish mode, when I click the replay button on the player, it works and replays the complete base layer slide. But when I use the seek bar to seek through the slide it leaves the selected slide layer as selected and does not show any change on it while the elements on the base layer shows the animations stages as per the seek bar state.

Hence is there a way for me to replay the base layer while keeping the seek bar as allowing seeking for the base layer, so that I can rewind and see the slide using the seek bar.

Hello Shahul, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

I appreciate you reaching out and sharing what you would like to accomplish here. I think I may be confused about what you'd like to accomplish:

You asked:

  • replay button = complete slide should be replayed
  • seek bar = navigate through the base layer

Your second scenario:

  • replay button = it works and replays the complete base layer slide.
  • seek bar = elements on the base layer shows the animations stages as per the seek bar state

This sounds like you got the behavior you were looking for. Could you record a quick Peek 360 video to clarify and/or your .story file so that I could take a look?
