Revisiting slide next button disabled

Aug 30, 2022

Hi all,

I've read through several discussions unable to find a solution but basically I am using in-built navigation buttons in my course. Some slides have triggers (buttons must be visited to proceed) and others are set to enable the next button after the timeline reaches 10 seconds. When revisiting a slide (clicking 'back', the next button remains disabled and does not even return to normal state after triggers are met.

My understanding is that the timeline resets when a slide is re-visited in all instances. However, is there a way to fix this preferably without adding a variable for each slide of my course? (Or easily adding this in across the course?) Please help!

Below is what I have tried so far:

1. changed menu option to “restricted” for the next/previous buttons

2. changed slide properties when revisiting to both “automatically decide” and “resume saved state”

3. I have also tried inserting triggers.

To lock navigation overall, change the Menu to Restricted navigation.

To ensure that someone completes an interactive slide, use triggers to disable and the enable the NEXT button when appropriate. To ensure NEXT doesn't re-disable when someone revisits the slide, you do need a unique variable for each interactive slide.
