SCREEN RECORDING REPURPOSED
Oct 15, 2021
I captured a screen recording and chose step-by-step slides and View Mode Steps and save. That's fine.
However, what could I do if I wanted to use the same footage later, but make it interactive? (I can't even find the video file either).
Additionally is there a way to make an imported video interactive? (that was, say, captures in ppt)
Lastly, what is the difference between importing screen captures to a single or many slides?
thanks

Hi, Diane.
Thank you for reaching out!

Once your first recording is done, you can choose it again from the list of videos (under Slides > Record Screen).
You will be presented with the options and will be able to pick a different mode to be used.

Yes, you can create your own using triggers, hotspots, and captions! Here's an article with some ideas:

The single slide option is for videos. They're not interactive, but if you recorded audio with your screencast, it'll be included with the video. The step-by-step slides will be split into several slides throughout the scene.
Let me know if you have additional questions!
Fantastic, thanks Maria
That was a great answer, thank you.
However, I can only see the recording in Slides/ record screen (as shown below) when I’m in the project I initially recorded it in. Is there a way to make it available to other projects? Many thanks, in advance
Hi Diane,
Happy to follow up on your question!
How can I make a screen recording available in other Storyline projects?
You can find that option in our user guide for inserting screen recordings.
If you don't have any step-by-step slides built, I suggest the following steps:
I hope that helps!
