Set border radius on button?

A standard button is either squared, rounded or round. Is it possible to change the border radius of the button? At the standard size (40px high) the curve looks fine, but if you halve the height of the button, the curve looks misshapen (blue in example). An equivalent rounded rectangle object can have its border radius set, and the curve looks correct (green in example).

I would use a shape, but I can't easily add an icon to a shape in the same way that I can with a button object (and the 'Icons' control in the content library don't match the icons in the Button Icons list).

I want a standard button that is 20px tall and looks like the green example above.

  • cannot adjust the borders of buttons, you could use a shape but would need to find a way to add the icon

    Hi again Tim!

You could use the little curve adjuster - that's the little yellow square in the bounding box of your button shape.

Sliding this you can adjust the curve. :)

Hi Andrew - Neither of the rounded built-in buttons (which are the only objects that let you easily add, colour and align icons) have the yellow handle that you find on other shapes. Here you can see the state editor for a button.

    Oh for goodness sake :)

I'm.not doing well in my help to you today Tim, sorry!

I must admit I never use built in buttons - always shapes - so I guess that's why I didn't know buttons don't have these guides.

Buttons for me have always been a bit hit and miss because they automatically create so many states that I end up changing or deleting anyways, so I just create my own buttons from shapes.

This might be the only workaround for your question this time :(

  • I never use buttons, ifs I need icons I add them inside the state (remove the alt tag) and I use icon fonts so the are scalable)

  • I'm having this same issue. I do not want to simply use shapes because I'm trying to templatize buttons and it's easier to have the width of the button auto adjust depending on whether or not I want an icon, and how long the word is. I wish this was as easy as it is in a program like Figma.
