States with mouse hover acting weird within scrolling panel

Hello everybody,

I have made a glossary with textboxes in a scrolling panel. The textboxes have a hovering state, which works well if you don't use the scrolling panel. But if you use the scrolling panel to scroll down and mouse over the terms, the hover function doesn't work properly

Here you can see the glossary (in dutch): https://360.articulate.com/review/content/29e7bed0-afa3-49d2-8b7f-e07e9a9d0525/review

Is there anyone who experiences the same issue or has a solution/alternative?

I have tried to change the textboxes into shapes with text, but that doesnt work either.

greetings,

Anika Willemsen

  • Hello V U! Thanks for including the link to your content in Articulate 360. That was really helpful.

We're seeing some trouble with hover states and triggers inside scrolling panels in Storyline 360, and it looks like this problem has popped up in your file. We're working through this with the team, and I'll be sure to send you an update once we find a fix.

Thanks again for bringing this up, and I'm really sorry it's causing you headaches!

    Hello Alyssa,

Thank you for your answer, I will wait for the update, and in the meantime avoid using the scroll panel.

    Greetings,

  • Sorry to see that this continues to be an issue in Articulate 360 years later.

  • Hi, Socorro.

I'm sorry you're having issues with the hover states in a scrolling panel!

We have this bug marked as fixed in our report, so I'd like to get more information on what you're experiencing. Do you have a screen recording or a sample .story file you can share with our support team?

  • Hi,

I've been experiencing this problem with the latest versions of the 64bit version of Storyline 360.

Essentially, inside a scrolling window, anything that relies on mouse hover to work behaves inconsistently. It might trigger at first but then it turns off when it shouldn't.

Found this to be the case with these versions:

    April 30, 2024 - 3.87.32265.0

    March 22, 2024 - 3.86.32080.0

Thankfully, I was able to rollback to this version December 13, 2023 - 3.83.31444.0 and everything was fine again.

I wouldn't feel confident in updating again until this issue is resolved as I am required to create a lot of work inside scrolling windows.

    Kind regards,

    Stefan

      Hi Stefan,

Thanks for reaching out about this. Have you tested this in the most recent version of Storyline 360? If you're willing to share a screen recording or your file with our team, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what's going on. You can upload those here or privately in a support case!

  • Hi Kelly,

Thanks for your response. I have just tested in the new version May 28, 2024 (Build 3.88.32474.0) and it looks to be all good now.

    Thanks very much! :)
