Text isssue with Hindi in Storyline 3.56 and 3.57

This issue seems to be introduced after 3.56.

It's quite easy to reproduce it.

  1. Launch Storyline 360 (v3.56 or v3.57)
  2. Create a new project, and insert a text box
  3. Paste the following Hindi text
    गोपनीयता और व्यक्तिगत डेटा

Expected result should be as below:

But you will see several characters are repeated:
incorrect result

By rolling back to v3.55, all looks to be good.

I am not sure if translation importing via xliff will be working fine, we are using Word file. But anyway there is still chance that we need to manually copy-and-paste string into the slide, and this will go wrong.

 

Any chance this will be fixed soon?

Thanks for sharing what you are experiencing in your project file. I followed your instructions, but I am unable to recreate the issue that you're describing.

I'm using Build 3.57.26407.0, and this link shows my published content, and the sample file is attached.

I'd like you to share your project file with our support engineers to investigate what's happening with your permission. You can share it privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.

Hi Leslie, Thanks for looking into this. Not sure it's not reproducible at your end. I have raise a support ticket to upload my file. Hope that helps. 

 

By the way, my environment is on an English Windows 10. 

Issues were observed when we use Word for translation importing, so I went ahead to try a fresh story with simply copy-and-paste to reproduce the issue.
