Text with line spacing shifting after Translation Import

Jun 13, 2018

Hi all,

When there is a textbox or any shape containing text with line spacing other than 1.0, then this text is moving up (line spacing > 1.0) or down (line spacing < 1.0). The only way to fix it is to re-apply line spacing for each element where line spacing is other than 1.0.

Does anyone know other solution except re-applying spacing to every element, or setting text without spacing?

Hi Ivan, thanks so much for reporting this to us. I'm really sorry it's making it difficult to work!

I see you also shared the same report in a recent support case, and Abel shared the issue with our product team so we can begin looking at next steps for a fix.  I'll keep this discussion updated with any new information.

Hi Alyssa,

Thank you for your answer.

I have 7 projects with about 20-100 elements with spacing other than 1.0  in each project. I got translation two days ago. Deadline is tomorrow. I just feel sick to do stupid job - re-applying line spacing to all these elements, instead of working on the new courses.

So I seek for some adequate solution/workaround.

Hi Ivan!

I know this is a dated discussion, but I wanted to share an update if others come across this discussion with a similar request! We released Enhanced Word Translation in Storyline 360 (Build 3.49.24347.0), making exporting and importing Word documents so much easier!

There are many benefits to this feature, but one is preserved formatting! The legacy Word translation method removed some text formatting, such as lists and paragraph spacing. The new Word translation method preserves all text formatting, so you don’t have to spend time and effort correcting it.

Lastly, to take advantage of this feature, make sure you've updated Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app!
