'Time Limit Exceeded' message.

Jan 17, 2022

Buongiorno,

I'm building a course where there are 5 different quizzes that the student has to do whithout havin a rest time. I've noticed though that if the student doesn't complete one of them in the allowed time, the message "'Time Limit Exceeded' " appears and doesn't go away until the user presses ok, allowing him/her to rest as much as he/her wants. There is any way to avoid this situation? Either to not show the message or just for a short time? thank you and have a nice day everybody

Hi Francesco, great question! When the time limit is reached in Storyline, the learner has an opportunity to submit only the last question on the screen. They will not be able to answer any questions that follow that question. Is that the case with your quiz when time runs out?

If that solves your issue, great! If you still need help changing the language on the message when time runs out, let me know and I can help you with that as well.

Andrea, thanks again.

But the problem is not the language.

The issue is that I would like it to not show at all such window, and go directly to the result slide. Without having to click on any button.

I did what the screencast suggested but it comes out only an empty window (look at the attachment).

Hi Francesco, you are correct, it does just show a blank window. I'm sorry, I wish that would have worked!

I have not been able to find a workaround to delete this completely. It could be because the majority of users want people to know that their time to complete the quiz has expired. You could put in a request for a product feature. Maybe there is a way they can allow customization to delete this time limit message completely if the user would like.

Please do let me know if they respond to you in deleting this time limit exceeded message, or if you find another workaround.
