Time limit for assessment/course - can I use a variable to extend for neurodiversity?

Mar 15, 2023

Hi there,

I've got a 'course' set up which is effectively a lead in slide that takes you into a 60 minute quiz; if learners don't submit within the time I believe their progress is lost.

I'm looking for a means of adding a toggle or variable so that those who legally require additional time, can gain an extra 25% (15 minutes).

Is this something I can control with a variable or do I need to create two separate versions of the course? It seemed to be controlled at a higher level (via the Results slide, Design ribbon) than variables within SL360.

Thanks

You are right, you can’t control that with a simple trigger. You would need two versions and input from the learner. I would think in terms of distinct scenes, rather than distinct courses, depending, of course, on how it is determined. If it is self-selected, and a high stakes time limit, I would think the selection would be a larger problem. You might need a more controlled access, which would call for two courses.
