Tracking time for each slide
Hello all,
difficulties have arisen in measuring learning time and we hope for your assistance. It would be very valuable for us if you could take time for this.
We have switched an ongoing project from another authoring tool to Articulate. In the LMS, a plugin could be used to calculate how long it took the user to complete each slide. The sum of the slides added up to a total time. To successfully complete the course, the user is not allowed to go below a specified time.
It should be guaranteed that the participant logs out and logs in again, as well as that he can go back in the navigation. He should have looked at all slides. The start and end time would not be sufficient for these purposes in our understanding.
Our goal is to capture the exact learning time of the participants per slide - with max x minutes before a time out. It should be prevented that a participant calls up the project and does not work on it. The project consists of information slides and quiz. However, the quiz do not have to be answered correctly in order to pass the course.
Now we have the problem that Articulate's SCORM files communicate differently with the LMS. Not enough log data is being produced.
We wanted to try xAPI, but the effort for this seems to be quite big and we can't estimate what further consequences this will have. A LRS (Learning Record Store) is not available yet.
We are still looking for solutions.
Our idea is to use Java Script to trigger the "Next" button to set the value for 'cmi.score.raw' with the value of '0.82' for the attempt.
Can you guys assess if this is helpful for our goal?
Is there another way we can get to the desired goal?
The dates for publishing are as follows:

We are looking forward to your news.

We have also deployed a result page for testing purposes. With this page more log data is communicated. However, after leaving the course and calling it up again, the transmission is the same as before without the result page.
Therefore, this does not seem to be the only solution.
Are there modifications we can make so that the use of the result page brings us closer to our goal? - MariaCSStaff
Hi, Ralf!
I have exciting news to share!
We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 58, we've included important fixes and new features. One of the features we've included is:
Create timed interactions and conditional triggers using built-in variables that track the total time a learner spends on a slide, a scene, or an entire course. To take advantage of this feature, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
