Hi, I have reviewed various previous answer but I cannot see a solution I can implement of the following issue:
I have added a PDF to a button in a course built in Storyline. Once the course is imported to Rise the learner selects the button, the PDF opens but the user needs to return to Rise and launch the course again to continue.
Is there any way to return to the course once the user closes the PDF?
I'm not inserting SL modules into Rise, but the following might help you.
When a learner launches a PDF (from Resources) or clicks on a link in Storyline, it opens the item in a new window without any browser tabs at the top. Learners often think when they close that window that they've been booted out of the online training module. That's just not true.
They should hover over the Edge icon in the Taskbar at the bottom of their computer screen and click on the elearning module to maximize it again. It is still open and running.
We had a lot of users who were confused by this. Since we've been teaching this method everything has been running more smoothly.

How is the Rise course hosted? When a Rise 360 course is hosted in an LMS, learners can exit and resume with their progress intact.
Courses published on the web or Review 360 will always start over at the beginning. This Rise FAQ shares details on that.
