Using survey questions to track individual answer responses

Nov 29, 2022

Hi, I'm trying to create a self-assessment where learner answers are tracked back to Moodle. I have been following the steps on this site for using survey questions (any LMS standard) because I can't understand xAPI at all:

Articulate 360 - Storyline 360: How to Send the Value of a Variable to an LMS/LRS - Articulate Support

and I'm having a couple of issues that I can't seem to work out:

Firstly, I can't seem to get the text entry variables to set to equal the custom variables (Q1 and Q2)

Secondly, I can't get the answers to track back to Moodle (see screenshot)

Can anyone advise how I can get this working please? Many thanks!

This is at least part of your problem:

Once the system encounters a "Jump to ... " command, it jumps, cutting off the execution of any of the triggers below it. Move the jump trigger to last in the list, and at least the variables will get set.

This may not be true of your actual project, but in this one, at least, the results slide has the same problem. Q1 and Q2 slides jump when the timeline starts, cutting off the triggers that give the variables their value, which leaves the answers blank.

Check the sample. I've changed those triggers so they work. I set the submit to 3 sec, and the jump to 4 sec, so you can observe them in action, but they will work if you set them to .01.

Again, it may be just these slides, but I notice that the triggers to set Q2's value are reversed.

There is a slight flash of slide 2 when you set the times to .01. I covered that up in scene 2.
