Aligning letters to the steps around a dial

I want to align the alphabet correctly with the 26 points around this dial.

1= A, 2=B etc.

I just can't get them to line up.

Any ideas?

    Have you attempted taking a screenshot, importing it into your image editing software, and lining it up there?

    I have, yes. Tried in Illustrator...putting the letters at 13.8 degree intervals around a circle. But they don't quite align. I'm guessing it's because different letters don't take up the same amount of space, due to kerning etc.
