How to create interactive video with tracking

I posted this on a different thread a day ago but haven't seen a response. So I'm reposting it here.
I have just joined Articulate and the training videos and discussions are very useful.
I downloaded the webinar video Create Interactive Video Quizzes with Storyline 360 - Articulate 360 Training and was able to create an interactive video with layered questions.
However, I need to have the questions track so that the scores show in my LMS.

where David Anderson says: "The easiest way to add trackable quizzes, is to insert your quiz questions as individual slides. Then, you would add a lightbox trigger to each button to load the slides as lightboxes."
He gives the link for Montse's video quiz demo for how that works but the link only shows the quiz; it wasn't shared.

My question is how can I find out how to do this? I haven't been able to find a video or discussion that gives the details.

Hi, Sameh. 

Your post gave me an excuse to create a quick mockup of what you described - an interactive video quiz with lightboxed questions. I'll attach it for you—and anyone else here—to see. Note these couple things that are especially important to making the buttons and lightboxes function properly:

  • When I created the triggers that open the lightbox slides, I made sure the "use navigation controls" checkbox was not selected.
  • This meant that I needed to insert my own submit button on the question slides. I gave that custom submit button an extra trigger to close the lightbox — after the one to submit the interaction. 
  • I made a design choice to make the "visited" state of the buttons that launch the questions invisible. This way, learners would only have one attempt at each question. This was just a personal choice, but it may be useful to you. 

There are probably other things that should/could be noted, but those are the biggies that come to mind. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions!

Veronica,

Thank you very much for this. I took a quick look at the preview and it is exactly what I was looking for. Especially the ability to go back to a question if I missed clicking on it when it came up. What about pausing the video when the question appears? Is that possible?

I'll work on it and see what I can come up with for my own video(s).

Veronica, nice example! I love the seekbar effect on each pop-up so the learner knows how long they have to click it.

Hi Sameh! Welcome to the community! 🙂 I'm looking at Veronica's example and it looks like the video pauses when I click on the shape and the question appears. Is it behaving differently for you?
