3D Models in Storyline
Hi,
is it possible to insert 3D Models and having the leanrers to rotate it with their own mouse? If not yet, when will this be available? I find this very useful and have seen it at the Learntec.

Hello there! Our team is hoping to use this feature in the future, and I was wondering if there were any updates on the addition of 3D model tools in Storyline at the moment. We would love to learn about any next steps!
Thank you!
Hello ChiaWei!
Thanks for reaching out and adding your voice to this request! We don't have an update to share, but I've included you in our feature request so that we can update this discussion if this feature makes it on our feature roadmap.

Hi Steven. Support for FBX or OBJ 3D models needs to be added to your roadmap. There is genuine interest for this capability in the community to be added. We really want this ability as well. What needs to happen to get this added to your roadmap? Who do we need to influence?

Hi Pierre,
Your hack for approximating an interactive 3D model by changing the states with a slider is absolutely brilliant! I wish the modelling feature was native to Articulate, but in the meantime this will do nicely. That's what I love about the community: we're the ones who make learning work. Thanks!

Hi, is there any news regarding this feature?

What about using WebObjects with an Online 3D viewer? I can get that to work with the website https://3dviewer.net/#model=assets/models/solids.obj,assets/models/solids.mtl.

Have not looked into it any further, was just wondering if Articulate would support 3d models.
Hi Menno!
It sounds like you had questions about support for 3-D models in Storyline. I'd be happy to share some insight on that!
Currently, 3-D models are not supported in Storyline 360 however, you can embed the 3-D model as a Web Object.
This article goes into a little more detail on working with Web Objects:
Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions!

'We're confident this feature will be in your hands by the end of the year.' That was 4 years ago, and still nothing....

For the weekly challenge #446 I created this:
https://360.articulate.com/review/content/94db2865-b623-4893-8654-f00a7e10abeb/reviewIt shows the way how to move and turn a 3D object (glb file created in tinkercad.com and enhanced with model-viewer.com) with mouse, mouse buttons and mouse wheel.
All material, source code and files are ready prepared for download on the last slide. Feel free to use it and share your opinion about it.
Happy to hear from you soon.

Dear Ralf,
Great to see this feature.
I made a 3d animation with the files you provided.
When the animation is published to review 360, the animation works perfect!
When the animation is published to LSM/LRS as scorm 1.2 the animation does not work anymore.
I can still see the image but I can’t zoom or rotate the image anymore.Do you know how to solve this issue?
I hope to hear form you soon!!
Kind regards,
Glenn Bronckers
Hi Glenn!
I just wanted to pop in and share that part of your e-mail signature came through when you replied via e-mail. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response.
- Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help!

To enable insert 3D objects, instead of using the web link will be a big improvement for storyline 360. Not only for training, it can also be used in many other places. I know for some reason this must be a difficult thing to do, but please, please push for it. We instructional designers are eager to have this feature.
Hi Tunan!
Thanks for the feedback on the type of functionality you'd like to see in Storyline!
I've included you in the feature report and will update this discussion if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap. Have a great start to your week!
