Accessibility and screen reader behaviours for interactions

Hi,

I am building a course with buttons/tabs. I have my focus order as I want a reader to read it, however, when a user selects a button, the screen readers always goes back to the top of the page (title) and reads everything again.

After the user selects the "close" button on a layer, I want it to go back to the first button each time.

I have duplicated the page (removed it from the player) and changed the trigger to jump to the duplicated page when the "close" button is selected. I removed the title/content from the focus order. While the first and second button function as I want it to, the rest of the buttons are skipped and the reader also reads the duplicated slide, even though it is deleted from the player.

Does anyone have any suggestions (maybe variables/conditions, if needed)?

Thank you!!

  • Hi June,

I'm sorry you're having these issues with the screen reader! We would love to troubleshoot this for you! Would you be willing to share your course here or privately by opening a support case?

    Thanks for reaching out!

  • Hi June!

Thanks so much for opening a case with us!

It looks like my colleague Renato is working with you. You are in great hands!

We'll continue the conversation over in the support case.

Hope you have a great day!✨
