Accessibility with Jaws

Hi in a recently published course I was reviewing for accessibility, I noticed a couple of things. 1st the designer used the information note, which has an i with a circle around it graphic. The screen reader tabbing order picks up that there is an object there, so it stops at the graphic, there is no alt-text, so it's really just another click to the text box which states "Please note..." Is there a way to avoid stopping on this graphic?
