Accessing Storyline Item without Internet

Is it possible to have access to a Storyline item without being connected to the internet?

Use Case: At a trade show, we need to display a storyline on a large touch screen. It will not be connected to the internet. It does not have any results it will have to track.

  • You don't have to have internet access to run a Storyline (or Rise) course. You can run them locally. You do need to launch them with a web-browser.

You would publish the course for the Web. Put all the files on the computer that will be used for the display. Launch the course by double-clicking the story.html file (for Storyline courses), or the index.html file (for Rise courses).

If you inserted MP4 files into Storyline, there should be MP4 files in the published content. Those video files should play when you launch the course locally. (If they don't, I suggest you contact Articulate support directly.)

If you added online videos by inserting their URLs as a web objects, you do need an internet connection to play it. (Here's the User Guide info about web objects: Storyline 360: Adding Web Objects | Articulate - Community.)
