Accessing Workday user & course completion data via javascript

Hi everyone... I am creating a course that has an annual retraining requirement. I would like to implement a single course that pulls the username and course completion status from the LMS (Workday), and then branches to the appropriate content/learning path... (learner gets the full course if no previous completion; gets the "test-out" path if previously completed). I'm thinking we should be able to do this with javascript & Storyline variables. 

Has anyone implemented something like this successfully with Workday or other LMS platforms?
