Accidentally deleted a course from the system

I'm sorry to hear you've accidentally deleted .story files! 

You can check if they're still available in the TEMP folder. Here are the steps:

1. Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline 
2. Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of the project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. 
3. Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story. 
4. Double-click the file to open it in Storyline.

I just did EXACTLY the same thing. 

Nothing in the Recycle Bin. 

Nothing in the TEMP folder. 

I did publish this to 360 Review, though ... is there any way of getting it back that way???

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Losing work is very frustrating. There is no way to extract the .story file from the published output in Review 360 and it looks like you’ve already checked the other areas the file could be retrieved from.

I’m curious if you’re working locally, typically on your C: Drive. Working on a network drive or an external USB drive can cause erratic behavior due to latency. For example, it could cause file corruption or prevent you from saving changes.

Thanks for the sympathy. I am working locally. The good news is that, for some reason, I made a copy of the file three days before publishing it to Review. Whew. If I made any changes in the gap, they were minimal. I can reproduce them by going to Review and comparing.
