Add X to chosen incorrect answer

Hey everyone!

In knowledge checks or quizzes, is there a way to add an x to the incorrect distractor that the learner chose?

Storyline places a green checkmark to the left of the correct answer which is fine.  I want to add an x to the incorrect choice the learner selected.  I've tried adding a hidden x on the "selected" state and adding a trigger to change it to normal when I set a "review"  variable to true.  Thus far I haven't had any success.   Any ideas?

  • Hello Aaron!

Great question! I'd recommend adding a layer called Review and adding the icon next to the incorrect option. You won't have to add any other triggers.

I've added a sample file to this reply!

      Hi Lauren!

Thank you for your feedback and the file.  Do you know how I could apply that solution to a multiple choice / shuffled answer question?

I figured it out. I created a custom state that "looks like" the selected state and change the state based on a variable I created -  based on the selected radio button.
