Is it possible to add background music/sound to my Rise project.

Hi, Gregg and Wendy. Background music is not on our immediate roadmap, but we are still tracking your comments. If plans change, you're in the right place to find out!

Is autoplay on the immediate roadmap?
Hi Charlene!
Thanks for letting us know what you'd like to see. Media autoplay is not on our roadmap at this time, but I will make a note of your request!

Thanks for letting me know. This may change the course of our development
as we we have only neared completion of one of the many courses that we
need to develop. We did not realize that the audio would not autoplay and
we need that for the translations that we plan and need to offer. Some of
our audience has difficulty reading English but understand the spoken word
so it was a key feature we needed for that. It is my fault for not
properly vetting your software but I thought I had tested every feature we
would need. It is really nice software. Storyline doesn't offer the
responsiveness we need so that's not a great option either.I am disappointed. We will see if there is a way to work around it.

It would be really great to have the option of audio playback in the background.
Maybe with advanced settings like a loop function and the ability to mute playback.
I also think it would be great if the course setting Media -> Audio had an extended setting where you could hide the audio timeline and trigger an autoplay while scrolling at this position. This would certainly be easier or faster to implement. - LouisaJames-56aCommunity Member
Chalk up another request for an easy way to add background audio to an entire course. You'd think this was a needed feature and high on the list of to-do's for Articulate.

Seems like the developers could add this feature in "settings" under themes with an option to play audio throughout all slides, or just on the cover page. I'm not sure Articulate anticipated the interest in this application and seem to have cut corners on some basic feature items; this isn't the only enhancement request that has fallen on deaf ears.
Hey there, everyone. We've been listening to your experiences and wanted to share an update about automatically playing audio in Rise 360 courses.
Web browsers are moving toward stricter auto-play policies in order to improve the user experience. We agree that requiring some kind of action from the user- such as clicking a button before playing audio- is the right approach to ensure a unified experience for all learners. To that end, we won't be adding any auto-play features to Rise 360. However, we are looking at ways we may be able to provide narration features that don’t auto-play.- CynthiaKlassenCommunity Member
Thank you Crystal, this is great news for narration. For my learners who are ESL and those who learn better by listening than reading I'm sure they would not mind having to click a button to start the narration - if that is the only option for your developers. I'm looking much forward to this feature!

Hi Crystal,
Is there any more on this option of playing background music (if a learner would like)?

Crystal, I just want to say thank you for this. From an accessibility (WCAG) standpoint, auto-play audio interferes with the ability of different users to hear the information. So thank you for keeping Rise more accessible as a platform.
Thanks for sharing your point of view, Esther. We appreciate the insight!

You can add audio to your rise Courses.
- Extract the course to a folder;
- Open the scormcontent folder;
- Put your audio file inside this folder (I named mine as audio.mp3);
- Inside this folder there is a index.html - Edit with notepad or any html editor;
- Put the following line of code inside the <head> tag
<audio src="audio.mp3" controls=true autoplay=true loop=true></audio>
Save and test it.
NOTE: A player is displayed in the top left corner of the course. Now you have control in the audio (play, pause, volume).
Let me know if you need any assistance.

I realize this is old but I tried doing this, while it worked in the html folder, once I re-zipped and tried to upload to my LMS I was given an error that my scorm wasnt formatted correctly. Any tips?

Wow, do NOT follow Nuno's directions, that is a good way to break your lesson! I'll put together a how-to if background music is desired.
Hi Stormi! I would suggest adding an audio block below the text, statement, or quote blocks. Then learners can play the audio when they're ready to listen.
