After AI Localization

  1. Is it possible to export an XLIFF for a course that was already localized with Articulate AI Localization?
  2. Is it possible to remove the translated language(s) and revert the course back to a standalone course?

  • Hi CarolineGagn745!

Happy to help with this! Allow me to answer your questions individually:

    1. Currently, courses that have been translated with Articulate Localization do not support exporting of XLIFF files. If you need to utilize external translation workflows, we suggest exporting your source content (via XLIFF) before using the Localization tool.
    2. Yes, you can remove translated languages and revert your projects to a standalone course:
      1. In Storyline 360, open a localized course and go to File > Localization, hover over the language you want to remove, and choose Delete from Project. If you delete all target languages, your project reverts to a regular Storyline file.
      2. In Rise 360, click the ellipses (...) beside the language from the stack overview, and choose Archive. The language moves to the Archived Translation folder at the bottom left. You can also restore, or permanently delete the language from the Archived Translation folder.

I understand the ability to export an XLIFF file from an already localized course could improve your authoring experience in Rise, as well as Storyline. I've shared this feedback with our product team!

We'll be sure to notify you if we release a future enhancement that helps!
