AI "Instant Convert" Option and Create a Course with AI draft - Using exact text
yeah, that’s a fair concern — when you’re working with approved content, any AI rewrite or auto-tweak makes it risky. right now, the instant convert and AI course draft tools don’t have a “preserve exact text” mode, so they’ll try to interpret and reformat, which can lead to subtle wording changes.
a lot of users have been asking for a “structure only” or “no-rewrite” option, so it’s definitely on the radar. for now, the safest workaround is to do the layout or conversion manually, or duplicate your text block first so you can compare and roll back if it changes anything.
hopefully they add a true “format without altering text” toggle soon — it’d make those features way more usable for compliance or locked-content workflows like yours.

I would love the toggle feature added you mentioned "Format without altering text" would be a huge improvement for many use cases. When you say "it's on the radar" can you elaborate? My goal in posting this was to draw attention to this need for the feature OR find a potential work around. If it will be on the roadmap for the AI tools, that's great news!

Hi CamiliaS,
Thanks for sharing this thoughtful feedback, and thanks to valentin6655 and tjniko for adding helpful context and workarounds!
You’re right that the Instant Convert and Create a Course with AI tools currently adjust text as part of their formatting process. There isn’t a way today to preserve wording exactly as written.
Your idea for a format without altering text or structure only option makes a lot of sense, especially for teams working with approved or compliance-based content. I’ll share this with our product team as a feature request to help guide future updates to the AI tools.
In the meantime, duplicating the block before converting, as mentioned above, is the best way to protect your original text.
