Anyone else having trouble with the continue button not working in a microlearning?

I'm wondering if it is a limitation of the microlearning format? Has anyone else experienced a similar issues?

  • In one instance it is set to "complete block directly above" after a video but it is not requiring the learner to watch any of the video.
  • In another instance it is set to "complete block directly above" after an attachment block but it doesn't require the learner to open the document, they can scroll right by it.

Thanks for any pointers others might have.

    Hi JoanneBentley-b!

Glad to see Karl has been helping you. Happy to jump in here!

I can confirm the behavior Karl shared is accurate, and expected. Since embedded videos are hosted on third-party sites, there isn't a way for playback activity to communicate with Continue Blocks, from a Rise course. However, if using a Multimedia Video Block (a video that was uploaded to your course), then the Continue Block settings should function.

I tested this on my end in Google Chrome, and set my Continue Block to Complete the content above before moving on.

Are you experiencing this issue across all supported browsers, even after clearing your cache? If you're still having trouble, seeing a screen recording of the behavior you're experiencing would be helpful! Feel free to share that here in the discussion or privately through a support case.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

If you are using a Multimedia Video block the Continue button will work as expected.

If you are using a Multimedia Embed block the Continue button will not work as expected.

The Continue button does not work with an attachment block.

  • Thanks Karl. Seems like the continue button should get fixed ASAP so it works with any block!

However, this is an Multimedia Video block in a microlearning and it does not work, but you're saying it should?

Another continue button glitch... some continue blocks disappear completely after the learner has been through the content once but not all of them.  Any insight into why that might be?

        Hi JoanneBentley-b!

        Happy to help with this!

It's expected behavior for Continue Button Blocks to only appear the first time a learner progresses through a lesson. This is true for both Microlearnings, as well as standard Rise 360 courses.

Are you encountering this issue when previewing your Rise course, or after it's been published? Also, it would be helpful to know if this behavior occurs across all Rise courses, or if it's specific to one.

To rule out a browser glitch, please try clearing your cache to see if the behavior changes.

Let me know how it goes!
