Articulate Storyline Red X
Hello,
I was working in the "notes" section of Storyline when a Red X appeared in one of the slides' "notes" section. I tried restarting my computer, and importing the slides into a new document, however the Red X then moved to the "notes" section of all other slides. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Mallory

Hi, Mallory -- Thanks so much for reaching out and sorry to hear of your troubles! First, may I ask if you can please confirm that you are working locally as described here? And also, have you had a chance to run through the troubleshooting steps listed here to see if you find improvement?

Interesting I am having this issue as well (see below). I am performing maintenance on old courses (circa 2014) that are being upgraded and updated. ahh tech issues - what would I do without you???
Oh no, Rachel. Sorry you've come across that X!
Let's tackle this together:
- I would first try to import the slides into a new Storyline project.
- If that doesn't help, follow these steps for a simple repair.
If you're still at this obstacle after those steps, our Support team is ready to jump in and lend a hand. Please keep us posted!

Me too:
I inserted video on a leyer (not long--only about 23 secs?) I started to resize it, and this x appeared with an error (the typical one that requests more info for Articulate that just asks what you were doing at the time of the error).
All the slide layers for that slide have the X.
Weird...

I did not save the file (in fear the error would infect all the slides as it did with Mallory, the OP)/. When I reopened it was gone.
**This is why I save periodically! :)

*Note* if anyone is interested, this was a fairly new file (created no more than a month ago)
Hello Laura!
Sorry for the trouble! I've noticed this happens when a file isn't saved locally. We recommend always saving and publishing Storyline projects on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or an external USB drive can cause erratic behavior due to latency. For example, it could cause file corruption or prevent you from saving changes.
Are you saving your file to a shared drive like OneDrive or Dropbox? If you're saving locally and still seeing the red X, can you share your .story file with our team privately in a support case?
