Audio Description for Visually Impaired users
Good afternoon,
Is there a way in Articulate Storyline 360 to add Audio Description track for Visually Impaired users?
If so, how can that be accomplished? Also, can it be turn on and off?
Thanks, Rosana

Hi Rosana,
Thanks for asking about this! You can use Storyline 360's Text to Speech feature to narrate what's on the screen. Here's an article all about that!
Also, screen readers like NVDA and JAWS can be used to describe what's on the screen as well. Here's a little more information about that!
I hope this helps!

Thanks Mr. Morgan! But what I am asking if a separate audio-track that can be turn on and be added for audio-description (this will apply when there is animation on the screen that needs to be audio described for visually impaired users).
Could that be accomplishes in Storyline 360?
Please let me know.

I like this idea. Instead of using the alt text for each slide that the screen reader will pick up (which only works if they are using a screen reader), you could add a button somewhere on the screen for each slide for audio description for the visually impaired. Set this to a trigger. Since it is set to a trigger, the sighted learners wouldn't have to listen to the description of the animation (unless they want to).

Hi Rosana,
Thanks for replying!
Good news! You can add audio tracks and set them to play to specific points using media triggers! Here are some articles about audio and triggers!
- Storyline 360: Adding Audio
- Storyline 360: Using the Audio Tools
- Storyline 360: Working with Triggers
- Storyline 360: What Are Triggers?
I hope this is a little closer to what you were looking for!
