Audio Fade
Is there a way to fade audio in and out at the beginning and end of a video? Thanks!
Hi everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 74, we've included important fixes and new features.
One of the new features we've included is:
- Create immersive experiences with continuous background audio that sets the tone and keeps learners engaged.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you have questions!

It would make more sense if we could do this right in storyline. Seems silly to need an additional program to make this happen. Don't we use enough programs as it is?

The easiest way is to use a simple video editor. Windows Movie Maker comes with Windows and can do what you asked. Import the video clip and drag it to the timeline. Select the audio track, click Clip|Audio|Fade In and Clip|Audio|Fade Out. Publish your project for the target of your choice, and you're done. You won't be able to control the envelope (how rapidly the fades occur), but it's quick and free.
Hi Sonya! Looks like Michael is taking care of you here, just let us know if you need anything further.

Hi Janet,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It helps us understand the need, and I've documented your request for more options for the audio editor. That way, we'll be able to update this discussion if we make any changes.
In the meantime, this related discussion that has some insightful solutions from fellow community members.

I had this exact same issue - fading really helps and it's in Powerpoint as a standard tool. So for me, I imported the audio into Powerpoint, faded it how I wanted it and then re-saved the media file only to import into Storyline. A faff but easier than using yet another external tool.

Is there an ETA for this feature? It's a basic audio feature in just about every type of authoring tool.
Hi S T!
This has not bubbled up to the top of our roadmap yet. You can see items that are currently on our plan listed here.
This conversation is listed on the report so that we can share any updates with you in the future.

I love Storyline! It is my go to for a great deal of projects.
That being said, yes audio fade would be helpful and a definite quality enhancer.
2nd. An easy manner in which to play a continuous audio track or two would be excellent as well.
Keep up the good work!

Have any work arounds been devised? I would like music to fade when a user clicks a button to move to the next slide - or be able to have the audio fade a s specific point in the timeline.
