Audio won't play when trigger is added
If I add a trigger to an audio clip, it won't play. Did all the steps as described in the "how to loop audio" instructions, but as soon as I add a trigger it disables the playback. If I remove the triggers it'll play. When I right click to preview it or open in edit audio, I can play and hear the music. Has anyone had this happen?

Hi, I have a similar problem as well. I wanted to add audio effects for buttons and have set the trigger to play media/audio when the button is clicked. However, the audio doesn't play. I have also edited the audio to remove the fades. Please advice!

I know I'm 2 years late to the party, but thought I'd share what I figured out in case it helps others coming to this thread.
I also experienced this issue. Without any triggers my audio played just fine, but adding a loop trigger made it so it didn't play at all. For some reason I had to add a second trigger to play the audio when the timeline started as well. I think ONLY having a looping trigger made it so Storyline didn't know when to start the audio at all. The additional trigger starting the audio at the beginning of the timeline fixed the issue for me.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for pointing that out. I jumped into the file and took a different approach with the Media slide. Since you have a set timeline where the audio must align with the text, I focused on playing/pausing the timeline instead of the media and recorded a quick video here.
I'm also attaching the updated file. Take a look at the trigger setup, and let me know if this works for you!

Thanks Lauren, but it still isn't working like it should. When you go to the media layer the audio file for the siren is playing but the audio file for the voice is not. If you click the Stop button or the Pause button, the siren stops and the voice starts.
Hi Mark!
I added a few triggers so the audio and text stops when the user clicks "pause"
I'm attaching the story to this response but I'll share what I did. I added a trigger to pause the timeline when the user clicks the pause button on the media. This stopped the text from continuing to roll. I added a trigger to resume the timeline when the user clicks the play button. The third trigger was to pause the media when the user clicks the pause button. Finally, the last trigger was to play the media when the user clicked the play button.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the response Leslie. I tried to add triggers to play the media. As I said in my 'note' on the file that I shared, when I add a trigger to Play media when user clicks the Play Media Button 1 the audio will not play.
Thank for sharing your .story file, Mark.
I did not see any triggers on the Media layer to play after it had been paused or stopped.
Here's a quick Peek 360 video to explain.
So a couple of additional triggers to play the media and you should be good to go!
