Black screen displaying on videos in Rise 360

Hello, I have created videos in Vyond and Canva upload to Rise 360 and both videos display a black screen. It doesn't look very professional. Can you tell me what I can go to get the title page to display? Since the information in the videos is confidential, how much of the video will I need to share? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

  • Hi Darri! If the video displays a black screen, that means that the first frame of the video is a all black. I would suggest editing the video to remove the frame with the black screen so that it will go straight to the title page. You can also trim the video in Storyline.

Let me know how it goes!

I created a video in Storyline that I uploaded to Rise and it shows a black screen instead of the opening image. The first slide has no transition and the images aren't animated. Any ideas how I can fix it without having to try using another editor to adjust it?

        Hi Karen,

Having audio on your first slide will also cause the black screen to be displayed on your Storyline block. If you don't have any type of media on your first slide and you're still seeing the black screen on your Storyline block, we'd be happy to take a closer look at this issue. Please open a support case here, and our customer support engineers will reach out to you directly to help troubleshoot this issue. It would also be very helpful if you could share a copy of your Storyline file in the support case. Thanks!

  • I exported a sequence from Storyline as a video. Then I put this into Rise. The first time, no problems, the image appeared. The second time black and it won't go away.

There are no black frames, sound or transitions on the first slide. Yes, editing a snip off the front the video for some reason overcomes this, but the video then is unusable as the quality is so low (saving and then resaving mp4 is lossy). The question is, why is it SOMETIMES black for no reason and how can I overcome this or Storyline fix the glitch QUICKLY?

      Hi Diane,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you're experiencing. I'm sorry you've hit this snag! If you're willing to share a copy of your course with our team in a support case, we'd be happy to take a closer look at why this happens sometimes but not other times. We'll delete your work from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.

  • I'm running into the same problem. It seems to happen when the scene I'm publishing as a video has more than 3 slides. Not sure if that is a cause or just a correlation, but if anyone knows a fix, I would appreciate any help.
