Black screen when launching Storyline-based WBTs on Mac

Hello everyone,

I’m running into an issue with WBTs created in Articulate Storyline. Whenever I try to launch them on a Mac, the screen just stays black and the course won’t load properly. This makes it impossible to complete the training if a Mac is the only device available.

It also seems like, many face this problem and it neven been solved by Articulate? Are there known solutions or workarounds to make Storyline-based courses run smoothly on macOS (for example in Safari or other browsers)?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated – I’d like to be able to finish the training without having to switch to a Windows PC.

    Hey  I’ve run into this too on a Mac. A couple of quick things that sometimes fix the black screen:

    1. Try running the course in Google Chrome instead of Safari – Safari often blocks Storyline content.

    2. If it’s an HTML5 course, clear the cache/cookies and reload.

    3. If you’re launching from an LMS, try opening in a new window or disabling pop-up blockers.

    Not a perfect fix, but these steps usually get the course to load. If nothing works, Windows is unfortunately the most stable option for Storyline content.
