Bold does not seem bold font when published
I have been using Storyline for some time, recently I have started facing an issue with bold. When I preview the file or publish it, bold font does not look bold; it looks like normal font. I am not sure why this issue has been occurring. Please could you help me rectify this problem.

Hi Blesy,
Are you using a particular new font with associated font weights? Are you able to use the bolded font within Word? Unless the font weight variants are available within WordPad, Notepad, Office, and so on, I would not expect to have access to them within Storyline. If you'd like to see specific support for font weights within Storyline, submit a Feature Request.
I also wanted to point you to this reference article from Microsoft.
If you've been using the same font all along and this is a new development, I'd begin by checking the following:
- Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
- You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
- Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.
- Is this happening only in one file? If so, I'd try to Import the Storyline file into a new project to see if that resolves the issue
- If it's new and happening in all Storyline files, I'd conduct a repair of Storyline
If you're still having difficulty with the bolded font after following the above, are you able to share your .story file here? If you'd prefer you can also send it along here.

I have been using Myriad Pro font in the course; it seems to be working fine in Word and in my previous courses. I tried the 'repair Storyline' option, but it doesn't seem to have had any effect.
I won't be able to send across the file to you, but please let me know if there is any possible solution to it that I could do at my end.
Hi Blesy,
Have you used the Myriad Pro font on other Storyline courses without a problem? What update of Storyline are you using? If not the whole file, can you share a sample slide with that font?

Hello,
I too am having some font issues - I have used the Myriad Pro font weight 49, It is applied to the title with the first word made bold and second word normal. However, the published output and preview both words look normal. Pls help.
Thanks
Sajna
Hi Sajna!
This thread is a bit dated, so I'd like to know which version and update of Storyline you are utilizing.
If you have a .story file that I could take a look at that would be helpful as well.

Hi Leslie,
Thank you for the response. It is weird but, in another machine the font appears fine....I guess my font is outdated.
Interesting. Thanks for popping back in with an update Sajna. Just let us know if you need any further assistance.

Hello Leslie!
I have the exact same problem. I am using a font called Inter, and I set the font to bold, it's being displayed correctly in Storyline 360 editor, but does not appear being bold in preview or when published anywhere. What could be solution or what am I doing wrong? I would be happy to share the story with you.
Thanks in advance for your help :)Hi Akos!
I'm happy to help! I've tested this in Storyline 360 (Build 3.55.25954.0) and Storyline 360 (Build 3.54.25674.0) with Inter font. Unfortunately, I see the same on my end where the bold format isn't showing in Preview or the published output. I've logged this with my team as a possible software bug. We'll keep you updated in this discussion with any progress!

Hi Lauren! We have changed all fonts to Inter ExtraBold since, and its working fine this way, it was a bit of a hussle, but it works at least.

Hi having the same issue- any updates on how to fix this? I'm experiencing issue with just the bold font setting. Italicized and regular work fine, but when I preview or publish it the bold goes away.

I am having the same problem. However, my colleague can see the font in bold both in preview and when published when viewing the same file. I have uninstalled Storyline, emptied temp-files, restarted, reinstalled and I still cannot publish or preview bold. I can see the bold font i Word and other programs. What is the solution, as I have a deadline looming? Open Sans bold is the font.
