Can a course track time spent by user as a criterion for successful course completion?
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for reaching out!
You can do this in Storyline 360 by setting the navigation of your course to Restricted or Locked and then controlling the duration of your slides so that they meet the duration of your time requirement. Here's an example:
If I wanted my learners to spend a minimum of 1 hour on the course, you can:
- Create slides that take 5 minutes to complete. Since your navigation will be locked, there is no way for your learners to skip the content. Having 12 of these slides will mean that your learners will spend at minimum 1 hour to complete the course.
- You can then track completion using % of slides viewed, or you can use a completion trigger at the very end of your course to mark the course as complete.
Hope this helps!

Yes, very helpful. What happens when learners don't exit the course correctly? What would happen if they walked away for a long time and came back? Or, left the course without getting to the completion trigger or end of course and then come back into the course? Does their time progress get recorded or tracked if they exit incorrectly and come back? Or, does that time tracking information get lost?
