Caption Button Missing

Has anyone else had problems recently with the captions button not showing up in the player after publishing?  I am using Storyline 360 (with the most recent update) and I am publishing to Articulate 360 for review.

  • Hi there, Susan.  Thanks for letting us know what's happening on your end.  The CC button on the player should appear on any slide that has closed captions.  It sounds like it isn't appearing on those slides for you, either.

Would you be able to share a link to your output in Articulate Review and possibly a copy of your .story file here for me to have a closer look?

  • Hi Susan,

I took a peek at your project file, and I didn't see captions added to audio clips until Slide 5.1 Initial IFSP. And when I previewed your course in Articulate Review, I did see the caption button on Slide 5.1

As Crystal mentioned, the closed caption button will only appear on slides that already have caption text. You'll want to go back and add caption text using the built-in editor, and the caption button will appear on those slides.

Well, that’s embarrassing! Thank you for catching that error! Adding it to my troubleshooting checklist.

I am having this same problem, however curious since all my slides have audio clips and narration notes if there is an easier way to have my narrations appear in the CC or carried over to the CC tool rather than having to type, copy and paste them all back?     It's likely a dumb question but any insight would be helpful. Thanks!
