Challenge Option in Rise
SarahSampara-24 I'm pretty sure that Rise isn't there yet with this level of functionality. I don't think we can set-up pre-assessments to determine if a user should re-do content. I think in order to do this in Rise, you would have to develop as two separate content pieces and configure the functionality in your LMS (if possible). The first content piece would be just the quiz. If the user passes this, all good, the course is passed. If not, they are then enrolled into the second piece of content which is the modules + quiz. Most LMS can handle this kind of functionality:
- Course: Widgets 101
- Content piece 1: Pre-assessment (mandatory)
- Pass - roll up "Pass" to Widgets 101
- Fail - Enrol in Course + Post-assessment
- Content piece 2: Course + Post-assessment (if fail pre-assessment)
- Content piece 1: Pre-assessment (mandatory)
It will be a change in experience for your users as it is not quite as seamless. If the user fails the pre-assessment, they must then exit that content and then launch the next piece from the LMS.
- Course: Widgets 101
I think's SamHill's suggestion is the best way to go.
A few years ago, I presented a way to include a pretest in Rise. However, a big loophole was discovered (see TIP: Build a Rise Course with a Pretest | Articulate - Community for details), which makes it somewhat risky if you need to verify compliance.
As Sam said, separating the pretest from the course-with-final-quiz in the LMS might seem a bit disconcerting to the users. But, from a compliance standpoint, that is the way to go—at least, it will be unless they ever add built-in pre-test functionality to Rise.
