Change state of Next button on Success Layer

Good morning Community, I need your help!

I have created a quiz and I would like that: if the user succeed, he can click on the next slide, if he/she fails, he will not see the next button and cannot complete the course.

At this stage, on my results slide, I have kept the usual slide triggers:

- Submit results when the timeline starts

- Show layer success if the user succeeds (passing score..)

- Show layer failure if the user fails (based on passing score)

- Change the state of the Next button to Hidden as I don't want them to be able on the next button only if they succeed

Then on the failure layer: I have not touched anything for the Next button (and it works fine, the next button is not showing up).

For the success layer: I have indicated: Change the state of the next button when the timeline starts but nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

And what settings shall I indicate to have the Next button appears when they succeed?

Can you please help?

THANK YOU Everyone

  • Hi, Cindy,

From your description, it seems like your triggers should work. Without seeing the file, I can't tell what's going wrong.

    Here's something to try instead:

    • Delete your base-layer trigger that hides the Next button.
    • On the Failure layer, add a trigger that changes the state of the Next button to Disabled. (Or Hidden, if you prefer. I just think it's better to have it showing but not clickable.)
    • On the Success layer, add a trigger that changes the state of the Next button to Normal.

If that doesn't work for you, I suggest you upload the file for troubleshooting.

  • I didn't see any follow up on this issue, but I took Judy Nollet's suggestion above and it worked perfectly! Thank you Judy!
